War is Peace

True, it's the first time I've been around so many Christian fundamentalists since I left Misosuri four years ago, but having the GOP in New York felt very familiar...like a book we've all read, and should re-read. A political leader telling lies to crowds of people who cheer louder at every lie, police and secret service agents arresting people for no reason other than they express their disbelief in public spaces. It's 1984, people. Right here in New York City in 2004, we experienced what I believe to be one of the greatest and scariest books ever written.

Four More Sneers!

"I watch him at work every day," Dick Cheney just said about W. "He speaks plainly and means what he says." It's the only thing he's said tonight that isn't a jab at Kerry.

The Republicans can't tell us their great plans: they don't have any that benefit us. They can't tell us the great things they've done: they haven't done any great things. All they can do is exploit 9/11 and put the camera on Guiliani when they speak of it...and put the camera on the dancing delegates when Cheney calls Kerry a flip-flopper.
